Bellevue, Wash. – Now underway in downtown Bellevue as the city’s first new high-rise condominium community in nearly a decade, One88 is set to become one of city’s most unique towers and marks the first project in the region for world-renowned architect Hossein Amanat.
Inspired by the shape, aesthetic and lucidity of a quartz crystal that is native to the Pacific Northwest, One88 will be sleek and distinct in its silhouette with angular lines and varied contours. The building design allows for many of the 143 one-, two- and three-bedroom residences to feature shifting private outdoor balconies that create varying angles of openness and dimension throughout the exterior. This innovative approach to the traditional balcony provides access to the outdoors with added protection from wind and rain, allowing for year-round indoor/outdoor living.
“One88 will truly change the skyline of downtown Bellevue. It will not be an ordinary, cube-shaped tower, it will be a statement-making building with a different application of materials and shape that creates the appearance of movement,” said Amanat, principal of Amanat Architect. “The views of Lake Washington, the Cascades and the surrounding city also heavily influenced my design. I wanted to create a number of private and communal spaces that framed those views and bring the outdoors in.”
Amanat has designed some of the world’s most distinguished buildings from Israel, China and Iran to Canada, including the Shahyad Monument in Tehran. His influence at One88 continues into the interior residential and amenity spaces that will be both vivid and engaging.
Residents of One88 will have the ability to meet, work and connect within a sophisticated, hotel-esque lobby lounge that reflects a combination of contemporary architecture, urban living and natural beauty. Interiors and amenities are being designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates.
“One88 brings a new style of design and a new level of luxury to downtown Bellevue,” said Bemi Jauhal, director of sales and marketing for Bosa.“The demand for downtown’s vibrant urban lifestyle is growing and we feel the city is ready for an unique residential offering.”
Located at the intersection of Bellevue Way Northeast and Northeast Second Street, One88 is just steps from Downtown Park and a variety of dining and high-end shopping at The Shops At The Bravern and The Bellevue Collection. Residences will have a range of views from Lake Washington, mountains and surrounding green park areas.
Bosa’s flagship Seattle development Insignia in downtown Seattle is one of the largest condominium developments in the Northwest which recently sold out of all 698 residences.
Sales for One88 are slated to begin in early 2018. An interest list is currently being developed at www.One88ByBosa.com.
